About Us

David Greene is a third-generation home builder and the team lead of Opus at Compass. With roots in luxury residential construction and a background in music and communication, David brings both strategy and sensitivity to every real estate transaction. His career began designing and building high-end homes, giving him a sharp eye for quality and potential—something his clients rely on when buying, selling, or investing.

Based in Andersonville, David works throughout Chicago and the North Shore, specializing in single-family homes, vintage condos, and architecturally significant properties. He offers more than just market expertise: clients benefit from his trusted network of contractors, designers, and home service pros long after closing. Through Compass, he also provides access to powerful marketing tools, exclusive listings, and a nationwide agent network.

Known for his calm presence, clear communication, and strong negotiation skills, David focuses on long-term relationships over quick wins. He’s a passionate advocate for the arts and LGBTQ+ community, serving with Out at Compass – Chicagoland, the Compass REtreat Council, the Chicago Symphony Overture Council, and Lyric Opera Young Professionals. He lives in Andersonville with his husband, John, and their rescue dog, Roxy.
